GOOD FRIENDS FOUNDATION INC. SCHOLARSHIP GRANTQualification of the Scholarship Applicants:- Applicant must be a graduate of Quezon National High School.
- Applicant must belong to families whose per capita income is not more than P50,000 per annum or its equivalent in purchasing power in the future.
- Applicant must be no more than 20 years old at the time of application and must be a Filipino citizen.
- Applicant must belong to the upper 10% of the graduating class as certified by QNHS Principal.
- Must have a general average of at least 85%.
- Must belong to the graduating class of the current school year only for the slot of the GFF offered for the current batch . ( Previous year's graduates are disallowed) .
- Must be willing to take up courses with maximum of 5 years of study.
- Applicant must be of good moral character as certified by QNHS Principal.
Application Procedures:- Application forms may be obtained and filed in the office of the Principal of QNHS.
- Deadline for submission of applications is first Monday of February.
- The Scholarship Committee shall review all submitted applications on the second weekend of February.
Scholarship Committee (SC):The Scholarship Committee shall convene starting on the month of January for the purpose of awarding the Foundation's Scholarship Grant to the successful applicant according to the Screening and Selection Guidelines. The members of this committee shall be appointed by the officers of the Foundation, and shall be composed of: - Chairman
- Vice Chairman
- Members - mandatory members are Manager for the Scholars and Treasurer and the optional member/s are any officer/s of GFF
Screening and Selection Guidelines:I - Screening Procedures shall include:- evaluation of each completed application form and other required documents
- qualifying applicants for interview according to financial status and scholastic records
- interview of the selected applicants by the SC on the third and/or fourth weekend of February
- initial rating of all applicants according to 3 criteria: financial status, scholastic standing, & interview
II - Selection of the Successful Candidate -- shall be based on the following criteria:- financial status (50%)
- scholastic standing (25%)
- interview and/or written test (25%)
- final rating of selected candidates according to the above 3 criteria after the home visits of the top 3 - 5 applicants
GFF reserves the right to choose the school in which the scholar shall enroll, while the selected GFF Scholar may enroll in any four or five-year college course of his/her choice. The top ranked candidate, according to the above three criteria, will be selected as the GFF Scholar of the Year. An alternate, preferably the second ranked candidate, will be considered for the position of GFF Scholar of the Year in the event that the top ranked candidate choose not to accept this scholarship grant, or GFF cannot grant this scholarship to the top ranked candidate due to valid reasons.
Awarding of Scholarship to the Successful Candidate:As verified and certified by the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, the GFF scholarship grant shall be awarded to the Good Friends Foundation Scholar of the Year during the month of March in Quezon National High School, after officially announced by the GFF Chairman of the Board of Trustees to the QNHS Principal. Choice of Schools for the Scholars:GFF will require, and provide for, all selected top 3 candidates to take the entrance exams in any of the following Foundation's schools of choice: - Lucban's Southern Luzon Polytechnic College
- Lucena's Manuel S. Enverga University Foundationand/or
- Lucena's Sacred Heart College.
Program of ScholarshipAcademic Expectations for GFF SCHOLAR- A weighted average of 2.5 or better for the preceding semester is required to assure extension of the Scholarship Grant.
- A failing or incomplete grade in any subject will result in automatic disqualification and termination of the Scholarship Grant.
- Absolutely no dropping of subject is allowed without prior approval of the GFF Manager for the Scholars. A valid reason for dropping (i.e. disabling sickness) shall be communicated in writing as soon as possible.
- The SCHOLAR is required to carry a full academic load.
- A passing grade is also required for all non-academic subjects.
Other Grounds for Termination of the GFF SCHOLARSHIP GRANT- Non-compliance to the policies, rules and regulations of the college or university where the SCHOLAR is enrolled in.
- Academic-related misconduct such as cheating, plagiarism, signature forgery, absenteeism, and/or habitual tardiness in class.
- Shifting to another courses other than what is specified in his/her GFF SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENT CONTRACT.
- Willful abandonment of the GFF scholarship grant.
If a termination of a scholarship grant occurs, the corresponding vacated slot shall become available as a second scholarship grant in the next school year, as approved by the officers of GFF considering the Foundation's future annual budget.
